Diana Milena is part of the group of researchers of Universitat de Girona who supports the development of the Vircoin2SME Project (Horizon 2020, action MSCA-RISE-2014), which main objective consists in increasing European and international collaboration in research and innovation to foster competitiveness and entrepreneurship around the ecosystem of digital social innovation and complementary currencies.
She is professional in Hotel and Tourism Management from “Externado de Colombia” University and Master in Cultural Tourism of Universitat de Girona. She is currently a doctoral candidate in Tourism at the Universitat de Girona, in the research topic of tourism impacts and sustainability. Her dissertation title is "Sustainable Tourism and Development: Analysis of the Colombian Sustainable Tourism Development by Studying the Effectiveness of Development Assistance Programs as Models of Helping Local Sustainability".
She held her internship in research from July 16 to September 15, 2016 in the education program, under the direction of Dr. Clara Inés Peña de Carrillo, representative of the UNAB for the Vircoin2SME Project.
